glossy magazines are stupid

I was at a gas station on the "romanian A1 highway" at a OMV station. Drinking the coffee and looking at some glossy magazines -- the big question came in mind.

"why do we still pay for glossy magazines since at least half of their content is advertisements ?" Really ... lame ... they should be free .. or we should get paid for getting them ...
