the solution for romanian workers sleeping at work on the road side
If you live in Romania you know this 100%.
Otherwise it's pretty hard to explain this blog post. From time to time -- at least in Bucharest -- because of the infernal traffic (lot of roads in Bucharest under construction, more and more cars, no investments or traffic optimizations) -- you see at romanian tv station the classic "workers do not work but sleep on the street" PATTERN-Interview. Well - the idea is that 10, 20, 50 or even more workers sleep on the street, or just stay and do nothing -- while they are in their work time.
I have a solution for this that came into my mind when checking this website and it's services (link to zoombak). They offer a solution for tracking your young/old family member - or even your pet.
Well I suggest tracking-your-romanian-worker. You make him understand this by contract, you notice him. You ask him to carry the gps device. You also buy a cheap (1 EUR) mobile phone. And you do real-time-live monitoring. I'm curious -- is this a solution for the lack of management seen into the construction companies who don't manage their workers ? Will the worker be more careful when he thinks he may sleep on the side of the road -- when he receive a call from his boss like "hey I see you didn't moved in the last hour - are you sick or something ?"
I'm even more curious -- will ever those TV reporters THINK that maybe not the workers are the [only] problem -- but their managers who don't properly supervise and MANAGE their low-level/wage-workers ? Who don't want to MEASURE the output of their workers ? When will romanian TV stations change that stupid pattern ? :-)
