plugin to automatically translate any web page you visit in your own language (google translate ajax api in romanian)
google translate ajax api is quite an excellent idea.
but now that's also in romanian -- as of this (link).
Previously I posted about how one site can be created using 3rd party delegation such that when that got improvements (like adding Romanian to the supported languages list) you automatically have your application upgraded.
theoretically it's even better. they offer translation between _ANY_ of the 23 languages they offer as of this announcement (link).
but that's even even better: provided that you visit a website in a language that you don't understand -- you can give that url to google translate -- and it tries to show you the same page but in your favorite language.
how many romanian people for example wanted to buy a car from germany via mobile.de but was forced to avoid this because german is hard ?
well guys - the question "how to buy from mobile.de when you don't know english" now has the answer - using google translate.
I can imagine alot of things / ideas -- but the best one sounds like: how cool would be to have a browser plugin that when you visit a web page -- it automatically show you that page but in your language ? :-)
given the fact that I have quite a big experience with browser plugins -- this project is doable and would be highly usable.
if the day had like 50-hours -- I would probably start my own "open source project" for this ... but in the meantime if any volunteer want to do this -- contact me for consulting on this ;-)

I like your idea Virgil ;-)
The current status of google-translate is "very-early", it translates very poor. But it's a start ... and I'm dreaming about the real-thing -- a plugin which translates very good :-P
As my blog states at the beginning: "dreaming is cheap" or "de vis e ieftin" :-))
